83 - The Great Escape (Spectrum)

This game has really held up amazingly well. It's every bit as thrilling, tense and rewarding as it ever was. It still looks great, too.

There's something so appealing about the sneakiness of the task at hand. Nipping out at night, avoiding the guards and spotlights... carefully breaking away from the day-to-day routine to pick up the Red Cross parcel, or move some contraband through your tunnel. Even though it's a pretty short, small-scale game it remains very replayable because it's so much fun. It's by far my favourite of the raft of isometric games that appeared on the Spectrum.
